BSE 106: Community Critical Infrastructure Research
How to read this course. BSE 106 (Community Critical Infrastructure Research) is written for the assessor-team member before any research training: the neighbor, volunteer, or new team hire who will walk their own community and learn to see the systems it depends on. Every lesson stays deliberately at familiarization depth. You will not learn named research techniques here, and that is by design, not omission – the course teaches you to see, to stay on the lawful side of every line while doing it, and to hand what you see to the people whose job it is to act on it.
The familiarization course that grounds a community assessment: learn to see the critical infrastructure your community depends on, observe it lawfully from public vantage, conduct the three-leg food-system primary-source research at conversation depth, carry Foreign Adversary Equipment (FAE) community awareness into the engagement, and deliver disciplined observation reports. Observe and report: an observer’s product is an observation, not a finding, and consent before access is the standing rule at the property line. Domain band; prerequisite: the 099 -> 100 -> 101 -> 102 foundation chain and the Common Paid Core of BSE 104 and GOV 106/107/108. Completed before the Gap Assessment step of an engagement.
