Electrical Grid Resilience

Mission Statement

Create a future vision for resilient electrical and key load infrastructure and provide practical guidance to lawmakers, regulators, and infrastructure owners on how to continuously improve U.S. infrastructure resilience to natural and intentional threats.

Goals

Identify and prioritize practical steps for improving resilience and reduce interdependencies:

1. Harden circuits to key loads such as water and wastewater facilities.

2. Promote on-site electrical generation for water and wastewater facilities to operate independently from the electric grid and the public telecom network.

3. Encourage on site generation at natural gas compressor stations and dedicated fiber.

4. Encourage cost recovery for dedicated fiber and mobile radio networks for electric utilities to be independent of the public telecom network.
